We have found working at Kitchen Space to be excellent. As a small start up it was important we find a premise that meets our regulatory needs but also our technical/equipemnt requirements and the ability to use as many or as few hours as we need to test our concept in market. Judge Bao is a new artisan foodie start-up offering traditional Chinese food with a modern twist. When Judge Bao first started, we bumped into a few hurdles. We were trying to find a commercial kitchen to roll our handmade steam buns and to prep our food, but struggled to find a place that suited our needs. And without a commercial kitchen, we could not get our food license.

We felt a little lost and confused with council compliance,. We heard of Kitchenspace from a friend, and did some research. We contacted Jesse from Kitchenspace to better understand his kitchen and how it meets council compliance. Jesse was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know to become compliant. With his help, we obtained our food license with no difficulty. It would not have been such a smooth process if it was not for Jesse’s knowledge around council legislation and compliance.

Kitchenspace is professionally set up and caters to our needs, with dough mixer, oven and storage space. The rates are reasonable and without hidden fees. It is a great commercial kitchen for foodie start-ups!

“Kitchenspace is a great new concept for anyone interested in producing food commercially or starting a new food-based business. It provides the facilities to work from a commercial grade kitchen at a low hourly rate, with electricity, water, gas, rates and every other hidden cost involved in running a kitchen bundled into their price. There is storage available onsite including walk-in chillers and freezers. The kitchen has been split into two ‘kitchens’ so you can hire a smaller area or transform back spaces back into one large kitchen if need be.

Jesse, the owner, is very friendly and helpful, providing contacts and information for start up food initiatives and as well as facilitating larger established outfits.
