How does it work?
Kitchenspace rents out commercial and certified kitchens, equipped with all the basics you need at an hourly rate. Our main kitchen and side kitchen are expansive, light, clean and flexible spaces that can be easily transformed to suit your food production or catering needs. With onsite storage, chillers and freezers available on application, Kitchenspace not only provides the facilities for food production but can also act as a creative hub, connecting people and businesses within Auckland’s food community.
How much does it cost?
Our plans and rates are as low as possible to support new start-up businesses and foodies, and prices can be customized according to your budget and needs. The hourly rate incorporates running costs such as water, gas and electricity, and general maintenance however this rate varies depending on the regularity of kitchen use and additional services / equipment rentals. For a general idea of pricing, email us your request and details to info@kitchenspace.co.nz
What can I find at Kitchenspace?
Our facilities are furnished with stainless steel bench tops and trolleys, which can be easily moved around to create the set-up you want. We provide commercial ovens, gas and electric hobs, a brat pan, a mixer, wash facilities and Hygiene solutions, as well as gas hot water, dry store, chiller and freezer space. Any equipment specific to your operation including utensils and cookware are not provided - this means you police your own dishwashing skills and any chance of cross contamination is limited to your own operation. Dry-store and cool-store are available at no extra cost throughout the time Kitchenspace is used, and can be arranged longer term if needed, on application.
Our Main Kitchen and Side Kitchens are designed to accommodate different kinds of operations and budgets. The Main Kitchen offers more space, two ovens, a commercial dish sanitiser and bigger equipment generally. The Side Kitchen has gas hobs and is easier to clean and move around for less people. A full list of equipment for each kitchen can be found here or have a look around our gallery here
Depending on your situation and needs, prices and availability of our two kitchens will vary.

Do I need a licence?
New legislation requires 1 in 2 people working in commercial kitchens to have their Food Handlers Certificate. Kitchenspace upholds this and requires copies of your certificates to be on file. Kitchenspace customers are responsible for registering their operation with the council, however we can help you with this and will be required to give permissions where required. Our team is more than happy to answer any queries or offer advice on applying for licenses and understanding your legal obligations.
Kitchenspace is happy to be associated with the following brands and businesses and we can provide Kitchenspace users with information regarding products and services they offer.
